Celebrat is a very simple, non-interactive, text-mode calendar application.
Adding and removing events is achieved by editing a data file (usually ~/.celebrat) with any text editor. When celebrat is launched it prints all pending events on the standard output; most of users call if from their startup script for login shells (~/.profile of ~/.login). Here is a sample data file and the output it generates.
It is very handy and useful. You'll like it.

Celebrat was originally written by Johan Walles. Until year 2003 it was maintained by Daniel Bungert.
Today it is maintained by Anthony Baire.
Celebrat is a free software. It is distributed under the terms of the GNU General Public License version 2.
This version is about to be released, I have stopped working on the core so it is quite stable and usable. The latest snapshot can be found in the archive.

Translations are not actively maintained. If you are interested in translating celebrat's messages into your own language or in updating an existing translation, please contact me so as to have your work included in future releases.
The French translation is up to date and the Finnish, German, Spanish & Swedish translations need updating.
